Sponsor Them Today and Raise Funds for the BDA Benevolent Fund

Training continues for CollarDam's Sheree Whatley in preparation before she and her husband Richard undertake a massive 125km sponsored bike ride on behalf of CollarDam, to commemorate 125 year's of the Benevolent Fund.

As we keep up to date with her progress, it appears March has been a month of first's for Sheree, "I have ordered my first ever racing bike, the aptly named Orbea Diva which is taking 10 weeks to be lovingly hand built by the Basques. I'm having the black and white version, much less likely to clash with any of my cycling outfits. I have had my first "chute" (fall). I narrowly avoided becoming roadkill when I crashed into a busy road, mercifully during a lull in the traffic, after failing to bunny hop the curb."

I have had my first solo ride. Yes, my husband now feels it's safe to let me out on my own. Either that or he's upped my life insurance cover and not told me. I have started climbing my first big hill. I have divided the 30km Col du Vence into base camps, a bit like Everest and I can now go all the way up to Base Camp 3 and back!"

"However, a number of things continue to elude me. Most notably, I have yet to master eating and drinking while on the bike. I generally feel it's wiser and much safer to keep both hands on the handlebars at all times!"

CollarDam™ is the new, premium, patient protection dental bib providing maximum comfort and spa-like luxury during long and intricate procedures. CollarDam™ bibs eliminate cold draughts around patients' necks as well as absorbing moisture and spilt or excess fluids.
